THE CHANGE by EVANESCENCE

This song speaks to be on so many levels.  It's just awesome!!

12 Years a Slave

I didn't have the stomach to watch this movie in the theater.  I knew it would take me places that I wasn't ready to venture.  It is important that we know where we come from and pay homage to those that have fought and died so that we may enjoy the privileges before us.  So many people endured conditions that we can't even fathom.  To be free one minute and then enslaved the next with no one to hear your plea is despicable.  But it happened.  And sadly it is still happening.  I learned that no matter what, just keep moving forward.  God will give you justice.  Overall I enjoyed the movie and I appreciate all of my ancestors.

The Paperboy

I was advised by a friend to watch this movie starring Matthew McConaughey, Nicole Kidman, Zac Efron and John Cusak.  With an all star cast like this, the movie should be outstanding! So I thought..
I should have watched the movie with no expectations. I can't even tell you what the movie is about because it is so out there!!  Each of the actors did a great job of being crazy as hell!!  That I must say takes talent! Nicole Kidman was a hot ass mess and she made her character very believable.  I won't give the movie away but she had an awesome scene with John Cusak, who by the way looked like a serial killer from the swamp.  Macy Gray was also in this movie and she was Zac's maid.  She really took charge of her role and made her character shine by doing things her way.  She is actually the one telling the story.  I must say that I will need to watch this movie again in order to appreciate the high that it takes you on.  Oh yeah, it is directed and written by Lee Daniels.

LOCKE

I am a fan of Tom Hardy. Who can resist a man with a British accent? Today I watched his movie entitled Locke... I have to say that I was very disappointed.  This movie takes place entirely in his car while he is driving to London.  And by the way he has a cold while filming and they keep it as a part of his character.  At first I thought this is what they mean by 'art'.  Then I say "well he has bills like the rest of us so he may not always enjoy every movie that he films'.  But this movie was almost like a comedy.  His wife, his co-worker and his baby momma, are blowing his phone up one after the other during his trip.  It was an insult to the viewer.

HOUSE OF CARDS

If you haven't seen HOUSE OF CARDS I advise you to stop everything your doing and immediately log into Netflix!  This is hands down one of the best shows I've seen in a while.  Kevin Spacey makes every woman ask herself "Where is my Frank Underwood?"  Not that we want a political animal for a significant other but more so a partner in whatever crime tickles your fancy.  The yin to your yang.  He and Claire ( played by Robin Wright) are a team in every sense of the word.  Like most people you will succumb to the "binge watcher" club simply because you just can't get enough once you hit play.
